The Altar Guild is responsible for the preparation and care of the vestments, vessels, flowers and linens used at the altar. The mission of the Church of the Advent's Altar Guild is to serve God through the preparation of all things necessary for the celebration of the sacraments and offices of the church and to nurture and train members to view their ministry as a sacred trust performed with loyal devotion, willingness, and dependability.

The guild meets every Saturday morning at 10 a.m., and observes a rotating schedule of guild teams.  The fourth Saturday of each month the full guild meets for mass, study, lunch and lots of fun.  New members are always welcome with or without experience!  Please speak with either Mrs. Marge Hoffman or Mr. Tommy Tate, co-directors, should you have any questions or inquiries.

A Few of Things to Remember:

1) The week for which you are scheduled for Saturday service, you should also bear in mind you need to arrive an hour before mass on Sunday morning to setup for mass.

2) If you are, for whatever reason, unable to fulfill your Saturday guild service, please make arrangements to switch weeks with one of the other members of the guild (Consult your Parish Directory for contact information).

3) If, as an act of personal piety, you are edified by serving the guild and parish more than your scheduled week, please feel free to do so.

4) Please consult the calendar in the sacristy for the color of the day, special Masses or other preparations that may need to be added to your weekly guild service, such as preparations necessary for a baptism, or, you may speak with Fr. Keene.
